The more you eat and the less you do, the more weight you gain. It seems like an easy formula to understand, but knowing that the more you eat and the less you work out the more weight you tend to gain, is a tough lesson to grasp for some. If we want to lose weight, and we know the formula to do so, then what seems to be the issue?

Committing to your diet and exercise program is the number one key to losing weight. The ability to avoid temptations is important, and sticking to an exercise routine and making it a habit, is the number one key to success. Sticking to this tried and true method of weight loss not only is proven by scientist, but by me. These tips are how I was able to lose a great amount of weight, in just 2 weeks.

"Lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks" is a specific goal. "Lose weight" is not. You must be able to be specific in your weight loss goals in order to achieve them. To make them come to reality, you have to be precise and accurate. If you do, you will be amazed at what happens to you and your figure. When you set specific goals, you mind and attitude will change and adapt in order to realize your goal. You will bridge the gap between where you are, and where you want to be.

Stick to a predetermined meal plan. Studies have shown that sticking to a meal plan that is already thought out will increase your chances at weight loss up to 2 - 3 times. When you are headed home and you know that dinner is a salad, but you end up defrosting a pizza, you are just sabotaging yourself and your ability to lose weight. Go with your first instincts and make the salad. Weight loss is easier and more effective with a predetermined meal plan.

Staying positive is important. Losing weight fast is not the most easy thing to do so it is important to have a healthy, positive outlook. Be aware though, that being positive and being nieve are closely related and don't think that losing weight will come easy to you. Thinking it will be easy will lower your ability to stay motivated. Stay optimistic, work hard and shoot high in your goals and they will come true.

Flex your self control muscle next time you are eating lunch out. Instead of eating the side of chips at your favorite sandwich shop, order an apple instead. Flexing your self control muscle is a learned thing and full self control doesn't happen overnight. Go slowly and take baby steps and lean how to work out your self-control muscles. Losing weight is just as much in your head as it is in your belly.

You will have success is you follow these tips. Losing weight is no easy task and not as simple as a formula. Although reducing calories and increasing exercise plays a major role in proper weight loss, the motivation, goal setting and practiced techniques discussed above are what set successful dieters apart from the yo-yo dieters. Keep positive, keep motivated and remain focused on why you are losing weight and you will succeed.
