Some Pros And Cons Of Universal Health Care

By Brooke Nash

Free is a very good price. That is what a lot of well meaning people say and, to a large extent, it is true. However, if something is free to one, it will have to cost someone else something. The idea behind the universal medical attention is intriguing as many of the developed world does have some form of this system within their borders. The pros and cons of universal health care, however, need to be looked at before putting it into place in another country, such as the United States.

A very prominent pro is that this system should be covering everyone who lives in the United states. The best care in the world is to be offered to all without the need to pay for it. The con to this would be the fact that if many people can not afford it, the government will have to make sure they are paid for by a voucher. The already strained federal budget will cause all taxes and current insurance rates to go up to meet these new expenses.

A large portion of other countries in the world have universal coverage. The difference is that there are private insurance companies that can be purchased from for anything the government plan does not cover. They have also had to leave their country for others to get some of the life saving measures that do not have funding under their program.

Having, at its core, a decision to save money is a definite pro. The con could be in the way that is done. The French board, known as N. I. C. E. Has cost many people their lives or fortunes because of the algorithms used to deny attention to many. In the United States, this has already caused a lot of good Doctors to give up their practices for lack of sufficient payment for services.

One good pro is that all people living in the United states would have an insurance policy. While adding 40 to 50 million new patients, with no new Doctors, the system will headed for disaster. The medical attention in all other countries with this type of coverage has been proven to be toward the bottom of the care spectrum. This creates a very big con.

Even the relatively benign Affordable Care Act, or Obama Care, in America, requires cuts in the payment of Doctor's fees and drug reimbursements. Many Doctors are not accepting Medicare and Medicaid patients anymore. The taxes on new medical devices will have a definite impact on these life saving and convenience items.

The pro is that everyone must pay for everyone else. The pros and cons of universal health care, in the United States is more con than pro. Especially in a land that cherishes freedom.
