Fun Pool Party Games For Kids

Every summer parents are faced with a similar dilemma, how to make a summer day not boring for kids. Many days are spent at the pool during this time, but some creative pool party games for kids can spice up this monotonous summer activity. Many of these games are cheap or even free, and can keep kids busy for hours.

Dog races are a fun and an easy activity for kids of all ages. This games is played by dividing participants into groups and lining the teams at the edge of the water. Each member of the team will take turns dog paddling across the pool. Whenever the participant gets to the end, they must exit the water and bark three times before the next teammate can start. The first team for all members to finish will win.

Marco polo is a game that can be played with children who aren't strong swimmers. This game is played in shallow water to insure safety. One child is picked to be the finder and must keep their eyes closed at all times. The remaining children will have a short time to find a hiding spot in the water. The finder will call out the word marco and the hidden children must respond polo. The finder has to find a child just by listening to the direction of the voice.

Pinatas are not just made for land, they can be great for the water too. Buy a pinata and fill it with water toys like squirt guns and goggles. An adult will need to hang the pinata over the water and have all children gather around the edge of the pool. Each child will take a turn trying to bust the pinata as they jump in. Once the pinata is busted, all the kids can dive in for the prizes.

Relay races are an easy activity for strong swimmers. Divide the children into teams and create lanes using rope. The participants will jump in, swim the length of the pool and back, and the next child will then begin their turn. The first team to have all swimmers complete the race wins.

A contest is a great way to showcase skills and creativity. These contests can display any skills, such as the best cannonball or belly flop. A great way to do this fairly easy is to split the children into two groups and have them take turns being the judges. Try to have small water toys as prizes for the winner.

Many water games can be purchased for a small price, such as inflatable basketball nets. Another game that may have some costs is water volleyball. This game requires a net, volleyball, and multiple participants. Treasure hunts are another fun activity for small children, it only requires the purchase of small water trinkets.
