By Perry Elshere

You know, as well as I, what you must do if your body is to be healthy. Getting enough exercise is very important for your health. It's very important to drink enough water throughout your day to keep your body hydrated. You need to make sure that you eat a balanced diet. These are all good ideas, but suppose your immune system needs a power boost? During the change of seasons, are you feeling a little under the weather? No doubt you have been told that there are superfoods that can power up your immune system. Are there really foods such as these? Of course, there are! Below we will talk about some of the superfoods you can eat weekly that will help boost your immune system.

While most people don't think of meat products necessarily as superfoods, pork chops are, indeed, a superfood for your immune system. If you don't eat meat, or at least not pork, you probably won't find this superfood useful, even though it's a true superfood. Just 6-ounces of pork chops per day can reverse rapid weight loss when it isn't desirable. It's not uncommon for an individual to lose weight when they are ill; however, if pork chops are included in their diet, the weight loss should stop. I imagine a lot of you don't believe that it's a good idea to eat pork chops daily. The good news for people with cancer, is that pork chops provide a lot of selenium. Selenium is a natural antioxidant which fights cancer. One good thing about pork chops is that there is no limit to the different ways you can cook and serve them. Boredom won't set in, that's for sure.

Raw kale is what you want to eat, as it's better for you than cooked kale. Raw kale is one of the very best forms of vitamin C that you can find. Other benefits of kale include its high fiber and low sugar content. Raw kale is quite a lot better for you than cooked kale, because the cooking of the kale reduces the amount of vitamin C that you take in.

We don't want to discriminate against vampires, but garlic is one of the best foods to boost your immune system. Sure it's smelly but it is packed with immune boosting compounds. The best way to get to these compounds is to eat the garlic raw. It may seem strong, but if you want the best results, just chop up a fresh clove and swallow it down. You will still get many of the benefits from garlic if you have to include it in the food you cook instead of eating it raw. This will give what you cook that great garlic flavor and boost your immune system as well. Garlic is great so don't skimp on using it. The more you can consume, but more advantageous to your health.

Many people swear by Echinacea and take it to boost their immune system. Even though Echinacea is not really a superfood, it can have a tremendous impact on the health of your immune system. Many folks keep Echinacea handy and as soon as flu season starts, or they get the beginning of a cold, they take this herb in supplement form. This perennial herb, also known as Purple Cone Flower, or Kansas Sunflower, isn't edible in its natural state so don't be tempted to pull off a leaf and chew it. Most of the Echinacea plant is used in the supplement capsules; however, in its native state, the plant isn't edible. It's not a good idea to eat raw Echinacea as it could adversely affect your stomach. Almost everyone strives to have optimum health. We know that the best way to do this is to eat a balanced diet, get enough exercise, and drink plenty of fluids. So how do we decide which healthy foods we should eat to maintain a balanced diet that will enhance our health? The guidelines are a first step, but we need more information. The term superfoods is relatively new and it describes foods that have properties that help keep your health optimized, and your immune system operating at peak performance. Our goal in this report is to make you aware of some of the superfoods that are easy to include in your weekly eating plan.
